COVID-19

We conduct our racing in line with Covid-safe activity guidelines provided by the national Model Yacht Association, to whom our club is affiliated:

Hove Lagoon Model Yacht Club Coronavirus (COVID-19) Policy for Members

Hove Lagoon Model Yacht Club acknowledges the extremely serious nature of the Corona Pandemic and respects the advice on measures essential to minimise the spread.

In particular, those over the age of 70 and those with underlying health problems are advised to avoid any form of social interaction.  Everybody in the UK has been asked to stop non-essential contact with other people and avoid all unnecessary travel. This is known as social distancing. We are advised to avoid meetings in confined spaces i.e. clubhouses etc, and to maintain a distance of at least 2 metres from other people, even when outside.

We enjoy our sport in an extremely public arena. It is essential for the long-term health of HLMYC that we are seen to be acting in a totally responsible manner and in accordance with the broader interests of the community.

Members are asked to follow the Governments guidelines and observe social distancing, hand washing or sanitising regularly and to remain at home if they, or any member of their household, develop Covid-19 symptoms (ie dry cough, high temperature or loss of taste and/or smell.)

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
